Privacy Policy
We built our tools to help you discover what you care about and give with purpose. We collect only what we need to do that, we don't sell your personal information, and we treat young people's information with extra care. This policy covers gatewayforgood.com, MySocialFingerprint.com, MyCharityAnalyzer.com, and our tools: the Social Fingerprint® Index, My Mission (with Gigi, our AI assistant), and the Charity Analyzer.
Our tools are in beta. We'll update this policy as they grow and tell you when something important changes.

1. Who we are
Gateway for Good, PBC is a Delaware public benefit corporation. Our mission is to reunite a divided world by creating connections through giving. Questions or requests: [email protected].
2. Age requirements
- Under 13. If you tell us you're under 13, you can still sort the cards in the Social Fingerprint® Index and see your results on screen, but your answers stay on your device. We don't save them, send them to us, or ask for your email. Saving, sharing or emailing in our other tools is for people 13 and older. If we learn we've collected personal information from a child under 13, we'll delete it.
- Ages 13–17. You can use the tools and get your report. We use your information only to provide the tool and your report. We don't send you marketing emails, include your answers in research or aggregate datasets, include you in group reports, or include you in future matching.
- 18 and older. You can use all features described below.
3. What we collect, tool by tool
We never ask for government ID numbers, bank or card numbers, or passwords in our tools.
| Tool | What you provide | What we do with it |
|---|---|---|
| Social Fingerprint® Index | Age range; causes and strengths you choose; answers to short questions; optional notes; first name, email and ZIP code when you request your report; a group code if you joined through a group link | Create and email your Social Fingerprint report; pass your top causes and strengths to the next tool; group results (adults only); improve the tool |
| My Mission (with Gigi) | Your brainstorming notes; selected causes and strengths; your purpose, vision and mission statements; name and email if you ask for a copy | Draft statement options with Gigi; email your statements; build your Social Fingerprint report |
| Charity Analyzer | Organization name, EIN and financial figures (usually from its public IRS Form 990); your outreach notes; selected causes; name and email if you save or email your analysis | Calculate results and email your report; if you choose, add your analysis to our library of organization reviews |
| Website and community | Contact and registration forms, event sign-ups, community posts, any purchases | Respond to you, run events and the community, and process orders |
Information collected automatically. Like most websites, our site and hosting providers receive technical information such as your IP address, browser type, device type, pages visited and referring site. We use it to run, secure and improve the site.
Information saved in your browser. Our tools save your progress and your top causes and strengths in your own browser so the next tool can pick up where you left off. This stays on your device until you clear your browser data. Deleting information from our servers doesn't clear your browser, and clearing your browser doesn't delete what's on our servers.
Please don't share sensitive details. Some fields let you type freely. Please don't include health, financial or other sensitive information, or private information about other people. If you do, we'll handle it under this policy and delete it on request.
4. How we use information
- Provide the tools, show your results, and email your reports.
- Send occasional updates about ways to make a difference, if you're 18 or older and chose to receive them. Every email has an unsubscribe link.
- Respond to questions and requests.
- Understand how the tools are used and improve them.
- Create de-identified, aggregate insights about giving (see section 6).
- Keep the site secure, prevent abuse, and meet legal obligations.
We don't use your answers to infer health conditions, religious beliefs or other sensitive characteristics.
5. Gigi, our AI assistant
Gigi is an AI assistant, not a person. Gigi is powered by Claude, an AI model from Anthropic. When you ask Gigi to draft statements, we send Anthropic your drafting notes and the causes and strengths you selected. We don't send your name or email address. We use Anthropic's commercial service. Under its current commercial terms, Anthropic doesn't use these requests to train its models by default and keeps them only for a limited time. AI-written drafts can be wrong or miss the mark, so review and edit them before you use them.
6. Aggregate and de-identified information
We may combine responses from adults into de-identified, aggregate information: for example, which causes are most often chosen together, or how giving strengths vary by region. We may use, publish, share or license this aggregate information to advance our mission and support our work. Before we share it, we:
- Remove names, email addresses and other direct identifiers.
- Leave out free-text answers and notes.
- Report only groups large enough that no one can be singled out, and use broad categories for location and age.
- Never include responses from anyone under 18.
- Require anyone receiving it not to try to re-identify individuals. We won't try to either.
7. When we share personal information
We don't sell your personal information, and we don't share it for targeted advertising. We share it only:
- With service providers that help us run our tools and site, under their terms and our agreements with them. Today these include Kajabi (website, contacts, email, community and payments), Cloudflare (tool processing, database, security), GitHub (hosting tool files), Resend (email delivery), Anthropic (Gigi), Google (Analytics, and the email and file tools we use to run our business) and payment processors for purchases.
- With organizations, only with your permission. We won't share your identity, causes or results with a charity, group organizer or other organization unless you specifically agree to that disclosure.
- For legal reasons, such as to comply with law, respond to valid legal requests, or protect the safety and rights of people and Gateway for Good.
- If our organization changes, such as a merger or transfer of assets, subject to this policy's protections.
8. Groups
If you join through a group link or code (for example, a Rotary club or a company team), your response is linked to that group. Group reports show combined results only, never individual answers, and only when enough people have participated that no one can be singled out. The group organizer doesn't see your individual answers unless you choose to share them. During beta, group features are for adults. Schools and youth programs that want to use the tools with students should contact us first.
9. Future giving matches (not yet available)
We plan to offer optional matching that connects you with organizations aligned with your causes and strengths. If we launch it, you'll be asked separately to save a matching profile, and you can update it or leave at any time. We'll contact you about a match first. An organization learns who you are only if you choose to make an introduction. It won't be offered to anyone under 18.
10. How long we keep information
| Information | How long |
|---|---|
| Completed responses and reports (18+) | Up to 3 years after your last activity, then deleted or de-identified |
| Completed responses and reports (13–17) | Up to 12 months, then deleted |
| Unfinished responses saved to our servers | Up to 90 days, then deleted or de-identified |
| Email list and marketing preferences | Until you unsubscribe; after that, only what's needed to keep you unsubscribed |
| Gigi drafting notes | Not kept by us after your drafts are returned; Anthropic keeps them only for a limited time |
| Records of your agreement to these terms | As long as we keep the related information |
| Security and technical logs | Generally up to 12 months |
| Backups | Overwritten on a regular cycle |
You can ask us to delete your information sooner (section 12).
11. Cookies and Google Analytics
We use cookies and similar technologies to run the site, remember your progress, and understand how people use it. We use Google Analytics to measure site traffic and tool use. Google Analytics collects information such as pages visited, time on site, device and approximate location, and uses cookies to recognize repeat visits. We don't send your answers, name or email address to Google Analytics, and we don't use it for advertising. You can learn how Google uses this information and opt out with the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings; some features may not work without them. Some pages include videos hosted on YouTube, which may set its own cookies under Google's policies.
12. Your choices and rights
Wherever you live, you can ask us to:
- Tell you what personal information we have about you and give you a copy.
- Correct it.
- Delete it.
- Stop sending you marketing emails (or use the unsubscribe link).
Email [email protected] from the address you used with our tools. We may ask a question to confirm it's you. We aim to respond within 30 days. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under local law, and we'll honor them as required. We won't treat you differently for exercising your rights.
13. Security
We use reasonable safeguards, including encrypted connections, access controls and reputable providers. No system is perfectly secure, so we can't guarantee absolute security. If a breach affects your personal information, we'll notify you as required by law.
14. Where we operate
We're based in the United States and focused on serving people in the US. Our providers may process information in the US and other countries. If you use our tools from outside the US, your information will be handled in the US under this policy.
15. Other websites and organizations
Our tools link to other websites, including charities and public data sources. Their privacy practices are their own, so please review their policies.
16. Changes to this policy
We'll post updates here with a new effective date. If we make a material change, we'll give notice on the site and, where we have your email, by email before it takes effect. We won't use information we already collected in a materially new way without your consent.
What changed in this version: This replaces our earlier Social Fingerprint Privacy Policy and Terms (2024). It covers our new tools, adds Gigi, sets age rules and retention periods, and describes aggregate data and group features. These practices apply to information collected from the effective date forward.
