Terms of Use
These Terms of Use govern your use of gatewayforgood.com, MySocialFingerprint.com, MyCharityAnalyzer.com and our tools: the Social Fingerprint® Index, My Mission (with Gigi), the Charity Analyzer, and related pages, reports and community (together, the "Services"). By using the Services, you agree to these Terms and acknowledge our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use the Services.
1. Who can use the Services
You must be 13 or older to use our online tools. If you're 13–17, you may use them only with the permission or involvement of a parent, guardian, teacher or program leader, who should review these Terms with you. Some features are available only to adults, as described in our Privacy Policy.
2. Beta services
Our tools are in beta. Features may change, pause or end, and they may contain errors. We provide them free during beta. We may introduce paid features later; we'll tell you before you're charged for anything.
3. Educational purpose; not professional advice
The Services help you reflect on and plan your giving. They are educational and are not financial, investment, tax, legal or professional advice. Your giving decisions are yours.
Charity Analyzer. Results are based on figures you enter, usually from public IRS Form 990 filings. Those filings can be outdated, incomplete or inaccurate, and financial ratios tell only part of an organization's story. We don't verify the figures, endorse or rate organizations, or guarantee any result. Please do your own research and contact organizations directly.
Gigi and AI content. Gigi is an AI assistant, not a person. AI-generated drafts can be inaccurate or unoriginal. Review and edit anything Gigi writes before you use it.
4. Your content
You keep ownership of what you create and enter, such as your notes, statements and analyses ("Your Content"). You give Gateway for Good a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use, store, process and display Your Content as needed to provide the Services to you, as described in our Privacy Policy. This includes creating de-identified, aggregate information. If you choose to share an analysis with our library or post in our community, you also allow us to display it there. You can ask us to remove shared content at any time.
You're responsible for Your Content. Don't submit anything you don't have the right to share, or private information about other people.
5. Our content and trademarks
The Services and their contents belong to Gateway for Good or our licensors. This includes the cause and strength cards and their artwork, questions, text, reports, designs, software and methods of presentation. Social Fingerprint® and Gateway for Good® are registered trademarks of Gateway for Good, PBC. Our other names and logos are our trademarks.
What you may do:
- Use the Services and your results for your own personal, family or noncommercial giving.
- Share, print and post your own reports and statements, with the Gateway for Good branding intact.
- Use the tools with a group you belong to (such as a club, congregation or team) for noncommercial purposes.
What needs our written permission:
- Using the tools, cards or reports in paid workshops, coaching, consulting or other commercial services.
- Copying, reproducing or distributing the cards, artwork, questions or reports, except your own results as allowed above.
- Building a similar product from our content.

6. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Misuse, disrupt or overload the Services, or try to bypass security or usage limits.
- Scrape, copy or extract content or data by automated means.
- Reverse engineer the tools except as allowed by law.
- Submit false, harmful, harassing or unlawful content, or impersonate anyone.
- Use the Services to send spam or collect information about others.
- Use the Services to violate any law or anyone's rights.
We may suspend or end access for anyone who violates these Terms.
7. Purchases, events and community
Purchases, events and community membership are also subject to the terms shown when you buy or join, including our payment processor's terms. Community members must follow our community guidelines.
8. Third-party sites and organizations
The Services link to charities, public data sources and other sites we don't control. We're not responsible for their content, practices or how they use donations. Mentioning an organization is not an endorsement unless we say so.
9. Disclaimers
The Services are provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy and non-infringement, to the fullest extent allowed by law.
10. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent allowed by law, Gateway for Good and its team won't be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost data, profits or donations, arising from your use of the Services. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Services is limited to the greater of $100 or the amount you paid us for the Services in the 12 months before the claim. Some places don't allow these limits, so they may not fully apply to you.
11. Indemnity
If you misuse the Services or violate these Terms or someone else's rights, you agree to cover reasonable losses and costs this causes Gateway for Good, to the extent allowed by law.
12. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Before filing any claim, please contact us at [email protected] so we can try to resolve it informally.
13. Changes and ending these Terms
We may update these Terms and will post the new version with a new effective date. For material changes, we'll give notice on the site and, where we have your email, by email. Continuing to use the Services after changes take effect means you accept them. You may stop using the Services at any time. Sections 4 (license for content already shared), 5 and 9–12 survive.
14. General
If any part of these Terms is unenforceable, the rest stays in effect. Not enforcing a provision isn't a waiver. These Terms and our Privacy Policy are the full agreement about the Services and replace our earlier Social Fingerprint Privacy Policy and Terms (2024).
